The Social Science Department of Kendriya Vidyalaya Burdwan successfully organized a Youth Parliament on October 7, 2023, with the primary objective of raising awareness among the students about the parliamentary system and its functioning. The students were divided into two groups, simulating the functioning of the government and opposition. They enthusiastically participated in debates, discussions, and mock legislative sessions, replicating the real-life parliamentary proceedings. In addition to developing parliamentary knowledge, students also honed their research and oratory skills. It was heartening to witness students debating on crucial national issues with great zeal and decorum. The Youth Parliament organized by the Social Science Department of KV Burdwan proved to be a significant educational experience, enriching students’ understanding of the parliamentary system and fostering responsible citizenship. It was a commendable effort in preparing the youth to be informed and engaged citizens of the nation.
